There were some concerns about how sloppy the soil was going to be at Trail Care today but the session turned out well. Thanks to the ten volunteers who met on Gap Creek Reserve at 7am and walked to Echidna Trail (near the Bielby Road entrance) to employ rakehoes, mattocks and shovels to repair the sections that have weather a lot of rain. Basically the gravelly top soil had been washed away in places leaving a clay mud exposed. So we reinstated drains, added water bars and found the stockpile of collected gravel beside the trail and put it back. ;-))
Remember the second Saturday of the month is Trail Care day.
Next one Saturday 13th April at 7am.
